Janez Tomšič (1979) holds a University Degree in Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, and has extensive experience in the management and supervision of companies.
He dedicated most of his career to the state-owned D.S.U., družba za svetovanje in upravljanje, d. o. o., where he held various managerial positions. Among other roles, he was one of two directors of its subsidiary DSU nepremičnine, d. o. o., and from 2015 to 2019 served as a member of the management of D.S.U., with primary responsibility for investments and real estate management.
Since 2007, he has gained extensive supervisory experience through positions on the supervisory boards of companies and other public-sector organisations, including the Housing Fund of the Republic of Slovenia. He served one term as President of the Supervisory Board of SID Bank and as President of the Supervisory Board of KAD. He is currently a member of the Supervisory Board of Farme Ihan – KPM, d. o. o.
His extensive experience in company management and supervision, strategic planning, corporate and real estate investment management, people management, and the planning and implementation of investment projects is complemented by continuous professional development, particularly in corporate governance, law, financial management and banking. He holds a certificate from the Slovenian Directors’ Association qualifying him to serve on supervisory and management boards.
He became a Member of the Management Board of Slovenian Sovereign Holding (SSH) on 23 April 2021 and began his second four-year term on 23 April 2025.
