Aljoša Valentinčič is a Full Professor of Accounting, Finance and Neuroeconomics at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana. He received his PhD from the University of Glasgow, UK.
From 2009 to 2012, he served as Vice Dean responsible for research. During this period, he led the research component of two major international (re)accreditation processes, EQUIS and AACSB, and contributed to revisions of the academic promotion and appointment criteria at the University of Ljubljana.
As a member of a consortium of ten universities, he participated in the INTACCT project (2007–2011) under the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme.
He is an active member of the European Accounting Association (EAA), where he chaired the Standing Scientific Committee for two terms and served as a member of the Management Committee. He is also a member of the EAA Accounting Research Center.
His research focuses on financial reporting processes in private companies and payout policies of publicly listed companies. His current work increasingly explores the intersection of accounting and finance with neuroscience, cognitive science and psychology.
He serves on editorial boards and acts as an ad hoc reviewer for several academic journals in the field of accounting.
