Borut Jamnik is an expert with more than two decades of experience in the financial sector, insurance and corporate governance. His career includes a pioneering role in establishing Slovenia’s first pension fund, which made an important contribution to the development of the country’s capital market and insurance industry. He continued his career at Kapitalska družba, initially serving as Deputy CEO and later as CEO for two terms, from 2003 to 2005 and from 2008 to 2011.
He also held key positions at Hit and Probanka, before taking over the management of Modra zavarovalnica, Slovenia’s largest pension fund manager, in 2011. There, he was responsible for asset management, compliance, planning, controlling, strategic communications, as well as legal and HR matters.
Throughout his career, he has served on the supervisory boards of numerous major Slovenian companies, including Telekom Slovenije, Pivovarna Laško, Zavarovalnica Triglav, NLB, Luka Koper, Žito, Krka and Nova KBM. From 2012 to 2020, he chaired the Slovenian Directors’ Association, where he was actively involved in advancing corporate governance standards in Slovenia.
Today, as President of the Management Board of SID Bank, he leads Slovenia’s promotional development and export bank, which plays a key role in financing sustainable growth, investment and the development of the Slovenian economy.
