Sony Kapoor is an internationally recognized expert in geoeconomics, macroeconomics and financial markets. His work connects geopolitics, finance, technology and sustainability, and analyses how geopolitical rivalries, technological change, climate risks and the transformation of global economic flows affect businesses, investors and decision-makers.
In a career spanning more than 25 years, he has worked in the fields of banking, investment, economic policy, consulting, research and management of organizations in many countries around the world. Today, he is President of the World Benchmarking Alliance in the Netherlands and Director of the Nordic Institute for Finance, Technology and Sustainability in Norway. He also collaborates with Friends of Europe and the Lancet Commission on Global Health Governance, and was recently an interdisciplinary professor of climate, finance and geoeconomics at the European University Institute in Florence.
He has advised the six presidencies of the G20, the European Union, the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, governments, institutional investors and international companies.
