Simon Mesec is the director of Mebor, a family-owned company based in Železniki and one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sawmill machinery and automated production lines. Having been involved in the business since his youth, he initially led sales and drove international expansion. Today, he manages Mebor alongside his brothers Uroš and Gregor, with whom he formally took over the company’s leadership from their parents in 2023.
Under its own brand, Mebor sells technologically advanced machinery and production lines worldwide, holding the top spot globally as the technology leader and largest supplier of horizontal band saws. In 2018, the company received the Golden Gazelle Award, and in October 2025, Simon Mesec became President of the Gazela Council. He brings extensive experience in internationalization, managing a fast-growing manufacturing business, and navigating intergenerational succession in a family enterprise.
