Simon Tantegel leads SKB Leasing d.o.o. and SKB Leasing Select d.o.o., which operate on the Slovenian market under the OTP Leasing brand and are part of OTP Group. He is a banking and finance professional with more than fifteen years of experience in finance, corporate governance, compliance and law.
He built his career within Nova KBM Group, now OTP banka, where he held a number of senior management positions in compliance, corporate governance and legal affairs. He was involved in some of the largest transformations of the Slovenian and European banking sector over the past decade, including integrations and acquisitions of banks and other financial institutions. He also served as a member of the Supervisory Board of Aleja Finance and as a member of the Council of the Slovenian Competition Protection Agency.
He began his professional career at a law firm and, after passing the Slovenian Bar Examination, continued his career in the judiciary at the Higher Court in Maribor. He also gained experience in diplomacy at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Ankara.
He holds a university degree in law and an LL.M. from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He further developed his expertise through postgraduate studies at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, as well as executive education programmes at Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
